Damp Proof Membrane Means You Dont Have To Replace Concrete

damp proof membrane

Consider an old floor which is showing signs of damp, which is often unsightly and can lead to other problems i.e. damage to floor coverings. One option is to literally dig out the concrete, put down polythene membranes and lay new concrete. The problems associated with this method are numerous; logistical, financial and the disruption to operations.

Epoxy damp proof membranes are a simple solution to this problem. A damp proof membrane primer is a damp tolerant floor system with a high cross link density and special additives. This means that a damp floor will not affect the product during curing but also once cured the system is so dense that it lets very little moisture through it.

Once laid, an epoxy damp proof membrane may be covered with floor coverings without the risk of damp affecting the final floor covering.
