Floor Screed Specification for Industrial Pumpable Flooring

Herewith a standard specification for installation of a pumpable self smoothing screed to a concrete or screed substrate (not suitable for anhydrite substrates) suitable to accept industrial forklift traffic.

There are two specifications. For dry concrete with an integral DPM:

1) The substrate should be mechanically prepared to provide an open textured surface. The subfloor should be free of contamination and be of sound construction.

2) Apply a coat of Treadfast Uniprime P1 diluted two parts water to one part Primer P1 and allow to dry.

3) Apply a second coat of neat Treadfast Uniprime P1 and allow to dry for one hour.

4) Apply 6mm of Tremco CS375 Uniflow Px-1 by either hand or pump application and allow to dry. Product may be applied up to 20mm per layer.

5) Apply a coat of Tremco CS933 Epoxy Dustproofer and allow to cure overnight.

6) Apply a second coat of Tremco CS933 Epoxy Dustproofer and allow to cure overnight.

This system may suitable for full industrial traffic after overnight cure at temperatures of 15°C plus.

For damp concrete 75%RH-97%RH or concrete with no integral DPM:

1) The substrate should be mechanically prepared to provide an open textured surface. The subfloor should be free of contamination and be of sound construction.

2) Apply a coat of Treadfast ES3000 and allow to dry.

3) Apply a second coat of Treadfast ES3000 , whilst wet completely blind with aggregate and allow to dry.

4) Apply 6mm of Tremco CS375 Uniflow Px-1 by either hand or pump application and allow to dry. Product may be applied up to 20mm per layer.

5) Apply a coat of Tremco CS933 Epoxy Dustproofer and allow to cure overnight.

6) Apply a second coat of Tremco CS933 Epoxy Dustproofer and allow to cure overnight.

This system may suitable for full industrial traffic after overnight cure at temperatures of 15°C plus.

Advantages

Low cost compared to uplifting and relaying concrete. Bright coloured finish, dust free, and the coating has reasonable chemical resistance. Anticipated life span is 10yrs for the screed and 2-3 years for the coating.

Disadvantages
