Herewith a standard specification for installation of an epoxy self smoothing screed to a concrete or screed substrate (not suitable for anhydrite substrates).
1) The substrate should be mechanically prepared to provide an open textured surface. The subfloor should be free of contamination and be of sound construction.
2) Apply a coat of Tremco CS125 Penetrating Epoxy Primer and allow to cure.
3) Apply a second coat of Tremco CS125 Penetrating Epoxy Primer and allow to cure.
4) Apply 3mm of Tremco CS350 Self Smoothing Epoxy Screed and allow to cure.
This system is suitable for light foot traffic after overnight cure, vehicle traffic after two days and exposure to chemicals after seven days - based on temperatures of 15°C plus.
Advantages
Chemical resistant, brightly coloured, seamless, extremely durable (expected 10yrs plus lifespan).
Disadvantages
Not a low cost option short term but is extremely viable long term.
